This is a hand engraved silver Hamsa pendant that I found in Jaipur, India. The Hamsa depicts the open right hand, an image recognized and used as a sign of protection in many times throughout history. It also thought to provide defense against the evil eye. This piece was probably worn by a desert traveler in Rajasthan, India many years ago. I found it in a dusty display case in a fabric store. The engraving is unique and beautiful and it measures 3-1/4 inches in overall length—a one if a kind treasure.
