My search for micro mosaics is much like my search for antique Indian jewelry. I look high and low for these treasures. These tiny works of art were created from the late 18th century to end of the 19th century. They were often purchased by wealthy European travelers as souvenirs depicting famous architectural landmarks they had seen. Pastoral scenes, as well as floral arrangements, were also popular. These rare works of art are meticulously made of unusually small pieces of glass. I found this floral design in Venice in an antique store. It probably adorned a snuff box at one point, but I created a pendant out of it. I surrounded it with diamonds and hung it from a diamond bale. It is 2-1/8 inches long. This is a slice of history to be worn with joy.
